Re: Darren Randolph
Good luck to him.

Never a fan, had a good few games and made a career for himself at West Ham but I always felt Adrian was miles ahead.

Re: Darren Randolph
How much?

Re: Darren Randolph
Touch worrying if true, because I thought Adrian was more likely to go and Randolph was much more of an obvious second string keeper. I'd still expect Adrian to go in this window which leaves us short of credible back up.

Re: Darren Randolph
Seems a decent fella. Good luck to him.

Re: Darren Randolph
We need to be at the fabled "next level" for a good time before we can have any hope of keeping three decent keepers happy.

And we haven't even got there yet.

I just hope we can keep two happy.

Re: Darren Randolph
£4.5m for Randolph from Boro

Adrian is under contract for 2 years after we took up the option so is going nowhere. Unless someone pays the going rate for a first choice Premier league keeper. Begovic was a reserve & he went for £12m.

Yeah, I reckon the club won't have thought about that. Wait till they find out they've sold Adrian, and left themselves with 1 keeper on the books.

Re: Darren Randolph
Bottom of the pecking order. Randolph's Last: can go.

neilalex 11:06 Fri Jul 21
Re: Darren Randolph
Generally not their choice though if the player wants out, as Payet most recently demonstrated. Adrian is good enough to start for a mid table la Liga or PL club; he has international ambitions. If he wants to go he he will go.

Re: Darren Randolph
£4.5M, not bad for a freebie reserve keeper. Some money coming back in via him & Nortveit!

gph 11:08 Fri Jul 21
Re: Darren Randolph
Wasn't Payet "going nowhere?"

Contract or no contract, you have to keep players sufficiently happy, or you have a choice of paying them for doing nothing useful or letting them go.

neilalex 11:12 Fri Jul 21
Re: Darren Randolph
Yes, that's my point. Ultimately the contractual position doesn't seem to really mean that much if the player wants out. I can't see that Adrian will happily sit on the bench for us if other credible alternatives are available. Personally I would have tried to keep Randolph as being more of a contented back up keeper.

Re: Darren Randolph
neilalex: your post was perfectly clear.

I wouldn't have bothered with mine if yours hadn't appeared after I started typing.

Re: Darren Randolph
Still remember that world class save from Henderson last year up at Anfield. Shame he had already fucked up and let Origi score a tap in.
Decent keeper on his day but a 4.5 million ( or whatever the fee is) profit made on a player is brilliant business.

Sven Roeder 11:15 Fri Jul 21
Re: Darren Randolph
Sitting on the bench as reserve keeper is useful
If someone has enough money to buy him then so be it and we will get another number 2. Plenty of 30 something keepers about.

If it's Palace or Newcastle asking the price is £15m
They can afford it

Eerie Descent 11:20 Fri Jul 21
Re: Darren Randolph
Adrian was a reserve/back up keeper till he was 27, and so far, he has had 1 full season as a number 1.

I think some people are getting far too fucking carried away. There are not a line of clubs waiting for him to say the word, and either way, we pay his fucking wages, and he is NOT Payet, and will never be talented enough or wanted enough to make demands of that nature.

neilalex 11:26 Fri Jul 21
Re: Darren Randolph
But the simple fact is that he was our No1 choice for a decent period of time. He wasn't viewed that way because he's shit. We're a mid ranking PL club. Why would it be so odd if another mid ranking club would view him in the same way? And if they do, he's probably gone. What's difficult to understand about that?

Eerie Descent 11:37 Fri Jul 21
Re: Darren Randolph
Ok, so if Adrian, the 30 year old with 1 full season and 2 half seasons as a number 1 goalkeeper, is so highly in demand, and we, West Ham, who have him under contract can't make him honour that contract, because we couldn't make Payet honour his contract, will be fucked, because we wouldn't be able to sign a replacement.

I think that's what you're saying?

Seriously, fucking hell.

Good. Utter, utter shit. should never have been signed.
